Skiing is more than just another sport. Skiing is a passion.

And for the passionate skier, only the best equipment is good enough.

 

You have probably already skied on a variety of very good skis but can you honestly say that you have ever owned a ski that has met your every expectation on the ski slope?

Not every ski is suitable to every skier. There are many factors to be considered when choosing the best ski.

 

It was precisely this consideration that motivated us to develop the sensational Swiss Five Star Ski. A ski of many dimensions geared to the personal needs and preferences of each individual skier, the Swiss Five Star Ski outperforms the rest.

 

 
 

Thomas Koller, the inspiration behind the Swiss Five Star, made his vision of the perfect ski a reality. A passionate skier himself, as well as a certified Swiss ski instructor, Thomas has shared the joy of skiing with many other avid skiers and in so doing, has learned a great deal about the needs and preferences of the individual skier.

 

What could be more enjoyable for a group of friends than to carve their own trails together on pristine snowy slopes? With the right skis, you get double the pleasure out of a full day of skiing. With this in mind, Thomas Koller began his quest to discover the unique DNA for a new outstanding ski.

Every ski has its own character, defined by three factors: shape, material and construction.

The construction of one ski can be the same as any other. What sets a ski apart from all the rest is applying the appropriate side cut to give the ski its character. Our Swiss ski engineering concept of design combines these factors to create its uniqueness.

Five Star skiers are connected to each other in a so-called five star network and are thus part of a community of five star ski fans.

You can use this platform to chat and exchange information with one another.

Ski-Construction – SANDWICH

 
 

The construction is based on the well-established sandwich type of construction, where various materials are squeezed together for optimal support. While this traditional method of construction is not new, compared to other methods in use, the combination of materials used and the building method allow for more flexibility.

Materials - Natural and High Tech

 
 

Swiss Five Star uses only top quality natural and high tech products to achieve a durable high performance ski that is comfortably light.

 

The core of the Five Star consists of strips of vertically laminated wood that are glued together. The individual needs and goals of the skier determine the type of prime wood used, including poplar, beech, ash and other high-grade wood.

Wood is still the best choice for the core of a dynamic ski.

 

The manufacturing process is elaborate and time consuming. It is also costly, due to the expensive precious wood that is used.

Each ski has its own unique character derived from the different combinations of materials, such as aluminum, fiberglass, carbon fibers, titan and others that are incorporated into the ski.

The base of all Five Star skis is made of a sintered nano carbon coating which is used for racing skis as it facilitates steering and smooth gliding.

Get in the mood for the day from 0800 o clock- over coffee and croissants and meet your friends before heading to the mountain.
 
Group event with Swissness dinner


For groups of 15 people or more, we offer a dinner with our local caterer according to the typical Swiss taste (Engelberger  Älplermagronen, five Fondues, Raclette ...).
